Cupping Therapy
What is Cupping Massage?
Cupping is a traditional Chinese technique that relies on negative pressure, creating suction on the skin, as opposed to the tissue compression techniques that are normally used during a massage.
Cupping acts on the surface skin of the body, adjusting the functions of the organs through the overall effects of the organs, meridians, qi and blood, strengthening the body, eliminating evil, and balancing yin and yang. During the body's self-adjustment, cupping therapy has the effects of promoting qi and blood circulation, relaxing muscles and collaterals, reducing swelling and pain, dispelling wind and dehumidification, etc. It can bring benign stimulation and promote the restoration of normal functions. Cupping harmonizes yin and yang, which is achieved through acupoint compatibility and cupping techniques. For example, if the disease is in the meridians or in the skin and flesh, it should be removed lightly. If the disease is in the muscles and bones, it should be removed in the interior.
